Rummikub
Rummikub is a fun board game with groups of up to 4 players. Open to beginners and those that have played before. We meet up on every 3rd Friday of the month, dependent on room availability, at the New Inn, Fremington. There will be two sessions running on the same day.
1, 12:00 noon. Play commencing at 12.15 till 14.00 pm.
2. 15.00 to 17.00
Those joining will be offered places on availability of each session. Please contact the group Leader for details using the Group Email Link above..
Coffee and teas are available at the bar.
Lunch is available to purchase at the New Inn should you wish to stay.
Easy Guide Rules used for the TAW U3A Rummikub Group
We have adopted some changes to the rules to allow for more games to be played. These are shown below:-
- No Points taken or added up.
- No 30-start required but you have to create one or more lines of your own to start. This can be made up of a minimum of 3 tiles (3 consecutive numbers of the same colour or 3 different colours of the same number). If you cannot produce a line to start during your go, you will need to pick up another tile. If you have the tiles, more than one line can be played in your initial go.
- You can only alter tiles already played, once you have played your first line.
- The jokers ( 2 off) can be used at any time as there is no penalty if you have them in your rack. Jokers already played can be removed from the table, providing you have a similar tile to replace it with. A joker removed and replaced with a like tile must be returned to the table during your turn (it cannot be kept). This can be added to an existing line or used to create another line of your own. A joker in your rack can however be kept and used to your advantage and can be played at any time during the game.
- The winner is the first to clear all their tiles.
